For all your child's neurological needs

Our approach to pediatric neurology

We know how neurological concerns can impact your child's life in many ways. That's why we take a personalized approach to care, working with you and your child to create a customized treatment plan.

Our team of experienced pediatric neurologists, nurse practitioners and support staff is dedicated to providing your child with the best possible care.

Conditions we treat

We offer a complete range of services for children with neurological conditions, including inpatient and outpatient care with innovative neurodiagnostics.

We also work closely with primary care doctors and other subspecialists to ensure that your child receives comprehensive care for all their health needs.

Common neurological disorders that our team treats include:

Our pediatric neurological team doesn’t typically manage autism spectrum disorders, sleep disorders or attentional problems such as attention-deficient disorder (ADD) and attention-deficient/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

We invite you to contact our WellSpan Behavioral Health team or multidisciplinary autism team to access care for those conditions. We work closely with our behavioral health team when children under their care need a neurological evaluation.

Pediatric neurology experts

Our team of pediatric neurologists is highly trained and experienced in diagnosing and treating a wide range of childhood neurological conditions. We provide customized care for your child, making sure to meet their unique needs.

Our doctors diagnose and treat disorders of the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, muscles, autonomic nervous system and blood vessels that relate to these structures.

Family-friendly care

We understand that bringing your child to the doctor can be stressful, which is why we strive to create a patient- and family-friendly environment. We work hard to make your child's visit as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

As your child grows older, our team is committed to helping them transition successfully into young adulthood. This transition includes moving to an adult neurologist for continued care, leaving the family home and joining the workforce. We work closely with the Epilepsy Association of Western and Central Pennsylvania and other community organizations to help young adults with neurological conditions live fulfilling lives.

We work hard to get to know each of our patients and their families. We evaluate your child holistically to ensure that we address your concerns and needs. We consider the impact of other medical issues that may be present and the psychosocial impact of your child's condition.

Neurodevelopment clinic

Our neurodevelopment clinic is specifically designed to address the unique needs of children with developmental delays and disorders. Our team of specialists, including neurologists, psychologists, physical therapists and speech-language pathologists, work together to provide individualized treatment plans for each child. We understand that every child is different, and we strive to create a safe and nurturing environment for each child to thrive. Our goal is to help children reach their full potential and improve their overall quality of life.

For families who experienced challenges related to a premature or complicated birth, we continue to care for and support their child after discharge from the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). We coordinate care with specialists, including nutrition and physical, occupational and speech therapy.

Advanced treatments

Our pediatric neurologists stay up to date on the latest advancements in pediatric neurology and offer leading-edge therapies for a variety of conditions. We provide access to innovative treatments such as infusion therapies for treatment-resistant migraines and ketogenic diets for epilepsy.

Innovative neurodiagnostics lab

Our neurodiagnostics lab provides a wide range of diagnostic studies that enable our neurological team to properly and efficiently diagnose your child's condition.

We offer electromyography (EMG), electroencephalogram (EEG) and video-EEG monitoring. These services are an important part of our epilepsy and movement disorders programs.

Collaborative approach

We believe in a team-based approach and work closely with primary care doctors and other specialists, both within WellSpan and at outside facilities.

We also collaborate with community organizations to help young adults with neurological conditions live fulfilling lives.

Virtual appointments

Our team offers virtual visits via secure video conferencing for certain appointments. Telemedicine enables you and your child to access our care more quickly and conveniently.
